Limpetite® is a liquid applied air curing synthetic rubber compound. It was developed in the early 1950’s when Bristol Metalsprayers of the UK were approached by the Central Electricity Generating Board (CEGB) to provide a coating to resist corrosion and erosion in their Cooling water systems using salt water. The local electrical generating station at Portishead UK was the first to have Limpetite® applied and over the ensuing years Limpetite® was found to perform better than any other coating previously tried.
For over 50 years Limpetite® has been consistently used in the electricity generating industry, both in the UK and overseas. It is the only coating that has a proven life in excess of 30 years in the arduous salt water, silt and sand laden erosive conditions found in UK coastal power station cooling water systems.
